Increasing self-confidence and managing stress
Method: Havening Touch
Boy:
Not long ago, on a few bad days, my self-confidence and self-esteem plummeted, and on an ordinary Wednesday, I refused to go back to school for yet another pointless day. On this day, I was taught the Havening Touch, and I started practicing it with Nancy, which eventually helped me to sort my thoughts out a bit, but I wasn't entirely convinced that this method would really help in more serious situations.
Fast-forward a few weeks, and I'm in my afternoon 2D class after a rough morning where I refused to go to school again. This was mainly because I went to a concert late the night before and then had to sleep in way too late for the next school day. I was eventually persuaded to take my last few lessons. So, I went to school with a head full of stress, even though I often say I can't adequately describe stress in a single feeling. In this 2D class, my feelings were already on the edge. After a long conversation with my 2D teacher about my progress and shortcomings compared to the previous period, my fragile feelings were given an extra push, so that back in class, I started to misrecognize my own work and ended up in a panic attack for the last half hour of class. This was most likely due to everything that had started to pile up in my head that day, which had to process everything with too little sleep and too much uncertainty. I went home after that lesson quite shocked, but here the method comes back into the story.
So I hadn't discussed this with anyone yet and came back home quite stressed. Once upstairs, I thought of the Havening Touch method and calmly started applying it to see if it could help in any way, since I had no decent way to cool down otherwise. And within a few minutes, the worries calmly flowed away. After that, I could barely remember why I was so stressed or why I was doubting myself so much. To my surprise, it had calmed me down again. All that time, I thought this incomprehensible frustration and anxiety was the true me. I want to make it clear that this is NOT who you are. Your mind quickly jumps to extreme conclusions in these kinds of circumstances, jumping from one bad thought to the next. Apply the Havening Touch method, and you'll quickly clear away this fog of confusion.
