Hypnotherapy

The key to the core of emotion.

Sometimes you get stuck in emotions or patterns that are difficult to grasp. Perhaps you don't know exactly where they come from, or you're unable to change them with your mind. Hypnotherapy can help you identify and process the underlying causes of limiting emotions, so you feel freer and lighter.

As a psychologist, I carefully and attentively guide you through hypnosis, a deep state of relaxation and focus where your conscious thoughts fade into the background and your subconscious becomes more active. This opens the door to lasting change.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is actually a very natural thing. Everyone experiences it at some point, for example, when you're completely absorbed in a book or film and momentarily forget everything around you. Or when you're driving or cycling along a familiar route and suddenly realize you've come much further than you thought, without losing control.

During a hypnotherapy session, I guide you into a similar state of deep relaxation and focused attention. In this state, your subconscious mind has more space to gain new insights, while your critical, rational thoughts remain in the background. This allows you to let go of old beliefs and emotions and replace them with healthier, more helpful thoughts.

Why is hypnotherapy so effective?

Many therapies offer temporary relief, but if the core of the problem isn't addressed, negative emotions and patterns can resurface over time. Hypnotherapy goes directly to the root of your complaint and helps your subconscious mind process limiting emotions and beliefs at a deeper level.

  • Lasting change – Because you work directly with the subconscious mind, hypnosis often has a deep and long-lasting effect.
  • Accessing hidden memories – Sometimes the root of an emotional problem lies in an experience you barely remember. Hypnosis helps to bring those memories to the surface and process them.
  • More than just treating symptoms – Instead of simply reducing the effects of a problem, hypnotherapy helps to address the root cause.

Scientifically substantiated

Hypnotherapy isn't magic, but a scientifically proven method. Research from the MEG Academy in Switzerland has shown that hypnosis is successfully used for numerous problems. It's recognized worldwide as an effective treatment for stress, anxiety, trauma, and even chronic pain.

Frequently Asked Questions about Hypnosis

There are many misconceptions about hypnosis, especially because of the show hypnosis on television. Therefore, it's important to know what hypnotherapy is and isn't:

  • You are always in control – You are aware of everything that is happening and can stop the session at any time if you want.
  • You stay clear-headed and alert – Hypnosis is not sleep. It actually helps you concentrate better and stay connected to your surroundings.
  • You don't do anything against your will – Suggestions only work if you accept them. You always retain your own choices and control. (Did you know that in show hypnosis, people only do crazy things because they want to? They are very open to suggestions and actively participate. In therapy, hypnosis is used to help you with personal growth and healing.)
  • It's a safe method – Hypnotherapy is a gentle and respectful way to create change, without you being 'away' or losing control.
